Welcome to The USA
A couple of years ago, I decided to journey off to the USA. I messed up a lot. Learn from my mistakes, let this be your guide to this country.

Story
I’m here to help. Leaving your home country is hard you leave behind family and friends, and you don’t know when you’ll return. If you’re starting your journey, you’re in the right place.
I understand the uncertainty of not knowing what to do or how to do it. A new location, culture, and language can be tough, but you’re still here, doing your best.
Start
I had it rough, but your path doesn’t have to be like mine. Learn from my mistakes, don’t be a dumbass. This is the mindset and the things you should have from day one.
Beginning
Know your people, and be grateful for everything. Starting today, you have nothing, you are a nobody. Ask for favors wisely; the more you ask, the more of a burden you become. There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
Take a good look at yourself and the what’s around you. Immigrants built everything in this country. Find out what you’re good at, connect with others in that field, and thrive. Everyone has a talent you just haven’t discovered yours yet.
Get an ID, a bank account, and some knowledge of your area. Find others in a similar situation and ask where the best opportunities are. The hungrier you are, the easier it is. When you have nothing, and stress is everything, use every waking moment to either learn or earn more.
Language
English will either be a problem or a blessing. Don’t know the language? Learn it. I’ve seen many people live their entire lives here and not know English. It’s possible if being mediocre is what you want. The opportunities that come with knowing two languages will open many doors.
Learn the language little by little. Ask how to say things, and grow your vocabulary. I promise no one will make fun of you.
Comunicate & Ask
Are you shy or scared? Fuck that. The best way to get ahead is by knowing the right people. If you can easily communicate, awesome! It’s only a matter of time before you succeed. If you don’t know how, practice. The only way to learn to talk to people is by doing it.
Asking is the best skill you will ever acquire. The greatest opportunities in my life have come from asking the right people. Only by communicating and connecting with people will these asks become reality.
If you think you’ll get better with time, you won’t—it gets worse. Let me be clear: learning to talk to the right people and then asking for a favor is life-changing. Few people have this ability; social media has made this skill almost nonexistent. It’s easy to be exceptional nowadays.
Money
You’re in a country where money and the people you know matter. Money will make you either hate this country or love it.
Build Credit
The further down the social ladder you are, the more your credit score matters. A good credit score will save you a lot of money. Having no credit score or a messed-up one will be a nightmare; you’ll be denied access to even the most basic things.
Debt
I made the mistake of buying an expensive car, thinking I’d be “the shit.” You won’t be, and neither will your friends think so. If losing money and stressing over it is your goal, then go ahead.
If you do have debt, consolidate it, lower the interest, and make it a priority to get out of debt. Your future self will thank you.
Invest
This all comes down to what you want to do in the long term. If making money is your goal, the USA is the best place, but you can only make so much. Make money work for you, not against you.
Use money to gain knowledge. When you have no skills, your most valuable thing to offer is time at a low price. Learn a skill in your free time, and find those who value it.
If your priority is money, get enough to start your own business. Our tax code benefits those with businesses. You’ll never get rich working a normal job—unless luck is on your side.
Don’t be a Dumbass
Unlike your home country, laws will be enforced here. People often say, “fuck around and find out.” One bad decision can turn your life upside down. It’s not worth it. Know your rights, but don’t act entitled, you’ll look stupid and might end up on TikTok.
Good luck to everyone; time makes everything better.
